transmission?

So my wife's car just went out tonight and she said
when it's in park or neutral she'll step on the gas in
the car will not rev up but when she puts puts it in
drive or reverse the car shakes then she said when
she puts it in neutral they can't even push it could
that be the transmission she checked all the fluids
and they're all fine.

Check the Maf sensor and the throttle position sensor. Sounds like the computer isn't reading wear the butterfly valve is (how far open it is to allow air in) What is happening because the car can't read it when you hit the gas nothing happens, when you put it into gear you are putting a load on the engine and it can't regulate to idle properly.

Awesome thank you. We found out her front driver side cv joint went out so that could be why they couldn't push it but didn't explain the not reving up. But that makes since. Hopefully it's that because I really don't want to pay out the add for a transmission
