transfer case engagement faults

Asked by sandray222 Jun 20, 2017 at 08:19 PM about the 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

fails to engage low 4 Wheel drive

1 Answer

found the transfer case clutches were worn allowing an over throw on engagement causing a service 4 wheel drive warning to be activated and locking out low 4 wheel engagement. Warning was able to be cleared by the agents with computer analysis and functioned properly. my fix was then to replace the transfer case and ensure correct oil was used as wrong oil led to the problem.
