Unstoppable crackling from speakers. A short maybe?

Question type: General

After a heavy rain, my speakers are making crazy noises... snap, crackle, pop noises.
This happens with the car turned off, the key is not in the ignition. After pulling the stereo
out and disconnecting the speaker wires, it still does it. I pulled the fuse for the stereo, it
still does it. The only way I can get it to stop is to disconnect the car battery.Any ideas?

I can see water spots along the driver side door, right near the weather seal. All speakers make noise, the ones on the door, in the middle of the dash, the rear speakers, even the little ones by the door mirrors. While pulling fuses I noticed condensation in some of them! A few hours after the initial rain that started all the noise, I reconnected the battery and there was no noise until I turned the key on, then unstoppable again. Today (about 24 hours after rain) it was instant after I connected the battery.
