Does the condition of engine wiring system and spark plugs have anything to do with my 2005 Buick Rendevous transmission slipping (loading) problems? My mechanic said that is the problem??

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My shop has installed two used trannies in my Buick R. (120,000 miles) without correcting slipping (loading and then clunking into gear on acceleration).  They have now concluded that the engine wiring system and spark plugs need replacing (according to their 'Manual" those need to be replaced at 100.000 miles, although there are no other symptoms such as rough running, difficulty starting, missing, etc. Anyone have an opinion or experience with this?  Don't want to spend another $400 on a guess that the wiring system is causing the loading and jerky engagement of the gears in my transmission!  Thanks.

Nothing to do with the wiring, the only POSSIBLE relationship is the vacuum module that MAY need replacing for $8 So sort out the transmisdion first Neil

Buy a bottle of Lucas No Slip and put it in the Tranny ,don't worriy about over filling, that product has worked a miracle on my Tranny. To answer your question, I am not a Mechanic, but I say find another Repair shop- but first try the Lucas.
