Remote control unlocks doors but won't lock doors

When I use my remote(new batteries) to lock or unlock my doors, it will unlock the doors
but does not lock the doors. i get the horn beep

does the switch inside the car work? Its probably the lock button on the remote itself, especially if the locks work normally inside the car.
