with proper maintenance no. the view of 100,000 miles on a car was set back in the 50- 60's or Pre-computers and advancements in technology such as plastic and rubber: the modern day comparison is easily 200,000 miles, have seen many cars with over 3-400 thousand, same motor and trans...but again with no or irregular maintenance, 50,000 can kill a car...
