2001 Durango RT. Overdrive off light came on and wouldn't shift into overdrive. Let sit for about an hour and no light and shifted into overdrive just fine.

Check your trany fluid, maybe it is time to have the trany serviced, get a new fluid and filter and if it has band's adjust them and clean the magnet. Did the check engine light come on ? if so get the code´s.
