Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car has been giving me starting issues on an off for a while now.  I replaced the battery in September ish.  When the problem first occurred, there was no noise from the engine. It would not turn at all.  I could usually get it to start by rocking it.  Once it is on, the engine seems to run fine.  Took it into a shop and we thought it was the starter, so I had that replaced.  A few days later I started to have the problem again.  I was going to have it towed back to the shop but the driver was able to start it in neutral.  Last night I drove to the store and when I got back in and tried to start it, it wouldn't start.  This time it made a single click noise, which is new.  The guys at the shop said they think its the fuel pump but I am starting to doubt them.  They don't seem to know what they are talking about and I do not want to have a bad experience again.  Any ideas? Thanks!

I´m thinking the ignition it self or the positioning on the trany since it would start in neutral but not in park. Check those two out first.
