Choice - low mileage '97 Ford Taurus Stn Wgn or 2002 Sebring Limited Conv.

Asked by A. Scott Jun 25, 2017 at 05:08 PM about the 2002 Chrysler Sebring Limited Convertible FWD

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

I am shopping for a used car on a limited budget. Need something to get me through
a few months of road travel then to sit up and use occasionally for a while. I'm using
an agency that I trust based on reputation and relationship. They check out all
vehicles carefully and report that both of these are in good shape.

The options are:
> 2002 Sebring Limited w/ 114k miles
> 1997 Ford Taurus GL wagon w/ 125k miles

I know that purchasing any used car is a crap shoot to some degree. My question is,
just shooting from the hips; any thoughts on which of these two - given that they are
both in good shape and have low mileage - would seem to be the best choice?

Which would you choose and why?

Except for the Taurus' exploding transmissions and Duratec engines... Yeah, they're reliable. I'd pass on both cars.
