Difference between 4x4and 4x2

All wheel drive and a 4-wheel drive that the front wheels can be disengaged.

The F150 is not AWD but 4 wheel drive. The rear wheels are driven in the 2WD. The 4x4 will also have better ground clearance but will get slightly less gas mileage than the 2WD given the same engine and body style.

4x4 is four wheel drive 4x2 is two wheel drive (rear only)
