How could replacing my struts cause my transmission to not engage?
My Sebring has been making clunking noises in front end especially when going over bumps. My initial thought was struts. When I took out the strut on the driver side, the lower arm assemble dropped as expected but when it did, transmission fluid started leaking out. I lifted it up and I'm guessing the shaft or something went back into the tranny and it stopped leaking. The passenger side did not leak and the rest of the strut replacement was uneventful. All went together fine. When I went to test drive it, I can hear the gears in the transmission turning in reverse and drive but it doesn't engage the wheels. The car will freely roll in park. Anyone have any ideas?
