Why is the Check engine light?

Asked by Guru2DPL2 Feb 21, 2020 at 10:45 AM about the 2003 Honda Odyssey EX-L FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just took my Honda Odyssey 2003 from the mechanic who is really
professional and a trusted friend of mine yesterday. The problem was putting
toooo much oil in the engine, the smoke out and... ended in mechanic shop!
Still the Check engine light is on. Also the TCS light gets on and then off
frequently. Last time this morning was off. I just went to Walmart for shopping
(0.9 Mile) and it was off.
I called my friend and he said it's okay. He told me to ignore it but I wanna
make sure about it. Please let me know what to do? should I take it to
another mechanic too?

Since the light is on, you can scan the car for the trouble codes. That will tell you what the issue is. Another mechanic can do it, or an auto parts store.
