why does my steering get stiff sometimes

i just bought my nissan less than a week ago.used. my steering gets stiff at  times. i took it
back and they put a new tie rod on the left and a four wheel thrust alignment. well the
wheel is still getting stiff. what can i do

I would recommend having the power steering system inspected (Pump, lines, etc..) I had a vehicle that did the same thing and it was the power steering pump. Also check the fluid level in the power steering pump reservoir.
