EPC light 2012 CC 2.0T power hesitation

Asked by GuruZQ1YM Nov 12, 2017 at 09:30 PM about the 2012 Volkswagen CC 2.0T Lux FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

EPC light on, as is engine light. Power hesitation
while accelerating but still driveable at highway
speeds, but I can feel engine running rough.
Noticed that my avg MPG showing in the system is
15 MPG higher than normal. Any ideas on the
culprit?I

Was just EPC light then I stopped and put oil in at a gas station. Hopped on the i4 highway, power hesitation so pulled off and left a trail of thick smoke on the exit ramp. AAA to the rescue and heaviest paperweight in the world in my driveway right now. Getting diagnosed today—anyone have any results?!

I had the issue last year. It is either your high pressure fuel pump on the engine. There is a recall on this and Volkswagen will fix for free. All fuel injected items, pump, injectors, and intake manifold are covered until 2022. The fuel pump module ( rear right passenger seat) on recall also, but no new module available by VW. I got towed and replaced the module with a earlier version from EBay.. Got reimbursed for part and labor by VW USA.
