Why is a light blinking in my dashboard after engine off.

I noticed a red light blink constantly in my dashboard after
the engine is off and the car is locked . But immediately I
unlock the car.. it disappears. please what is the meaning
of that light?.. Thanks

That red flashing light is more than likely part of your vehicles security system. When it's flashing, it means your car is locked and the system is activated. Once you unlock the car with your key fob the system turns off so you can start the car.
