FJ Cruiser Back Clam Shell Door

Asked by Flyer900 Jul 11, 2014 at 05:34 PM about the 2011 Toyota FJ Cruiser 4WD

Question type: General

I just bought a 2011 FJ Cruiser. I noticed that the rear clamshell door drops about
an 1/8" to 1/4" when opening. When closing it line right back up. There does not
seem to be any rubbing marks and the door is solid on hinges when open. Is this normal
for this vehicle …. I have not seen another vehicle to compare.

1 Answer

The hinge pin on the clam shell door can wear, causing it to become loose. There is no adjustment. You just have to replace the hinge.
