Silverado electrical leak

Asked by Jan 02, 2017 at 10:02 PM about the 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT Crew Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My Silverado starts every day; if I go two days it will
not start. Replaced the battery but no change. If I
pull the power cable to the fuse box there is power
draw out of battery. Oddly the courtesy lights on
the door locks, power window switches and
2WD/4WD selector knob remain on ALL the time.
Any guesses?

Sounds like the BCM's programming is all messed up, unfortunately the only place to get it straightened out is a GM Dealer, once that is done then address the battery draw. Anything after 2005 you just can't remove the battery without a special preset saver tool, if you do the BCM looses the factory settings and the dealer is the only way to get it back, repeated disconnections can and does ruin a BCM to where it can no longer be reflashed.
