engine indicator light is yellow and will not go off and when I stop the fan keeps running quite a few minutes before turning off.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Yesterday my engine light came on in yellow and it will not go off.  Now the fan on the moter will not shut off when you turn the key off.  I do need an oil change, about 2000 miles late.  Don't know what to do!

Check your radiator for the fan run on. Then change the oil. Shame on you.

oil change not the problem but YES GO CHANGE IT. then check your radiator to make sure it is full. go by local parts house and have them read engine code for you if fans are staying on and it is not running hot the you have a bad fan temp. sensor. if running hot that is your main concern.
