What do the stars mean on dealers ratings

Asked by TekDa Sep 30, 2013 at 10:00 AM about the 2011 Toyota Highlander Limited

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

I am wondering since there are quite a few out there if I should only look at dealers with 41/2 to 5 stars.  Does 3 mean they are not very reliable

3 stars basically means the Dealer has achieved an "Average" or "Just OK" rating. The ratings that people leave aren't always objective though..sometimes when folks get too emotional they blast a Dealer when it wasn't the Dealer's fault. However, I would suggest that you stick to higher rated Dealers just to play it safe! Car Shopping sucks, but if you educate yourself on the things you should be doing (i.e. Getting a CarFax report from the Dealer's website BEFORE going there)...it's much less painful of a process!
