15000 mile oil changes

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Jaguar recomends oil changes at 15000 miles  no engine is frictionless and the oil has to be sucked out at oil changes subsequently how much wear debriz will be left behind and at 40000
miles I wonder if the cam shaft /rocker will start to rattle due to lack of improper lubrication as the ports that the oil is injected through will close due to wear debriz I have had two jags before and change the oil at 3500/4000 miles and had no mechanical failures, i am aware that the engines are made to precise specs but can not see how that makes a difference

Letting oil go 15K miles without being changed is one of the best ways I know of to ruin an engine in a hurry, not to mention sending gas mileage down the tubes. I rarely let mine go past 3K miles and have over 305K miles on the car I drive, still getting over 30 mpg consistently.

getting oil change every 3k is a waste of money modern engine oil is easily perfect over 5k and typically good up to 10k brand new jaguar doesnt recommend a oil change until 15k and any new luxury car using fully synthetic oil, the oil will essentially never go bad except for if you don't let the engine/oil heat up regularly to burn out condesation anyone changing their oil every 3k is either wasting their money or their engine is already garbage

Have a Range Rover eloquent with 135k miles. Change the oil about every 10k - car runs smooth. No issues. Only thing that I do is if I run the car hard, I let it cool down for 2 mins before switching off. Similarly I drive the car slowly for 2 mins after engine temp is showing at the midpoint. I also did all fluid replacement at 60k and 120k as well.

I have a jaguar 2010 5.2L... I believe every 6K miles is good for the oil change ... you better spend on changing oil three times per year instead of spending big on a heavy mechanic job .. no?)

My Jaguar dealer said they use Mobil 1, which is what I've been using for decades.
