De Carb Required to stop skipping issue when car is started from a cold engine.
I have a 2011 VW CC Sport. I have been having problems with engine
missing whenever I started and the engine had completely cooled off. The
VW dealer said I needed to have a de carb done because there was
excessive carbon build up on the throttle body and exhaust valves. They
said this kind of problem is normally seen with cars with high mileage like
mine. The engine has 96K on it. Said the service takes 7hrs. to complete.
They want $940 for this de carb.. They want $900 too?
I know there can be carbon build up in throttle body and on the flap that
opens and closes on the intake. I understood this usually can be taken care
of with thorough cleaning of the throttle body with carburetor cleaning or an
injector cleaning. Am I being sold a bill of goods?
