Why does my cat shake/stutter?

My car shakes when I try to accelerate and my rpm jumps  
or feels like it struggles to go up hill. It also stutters while
backing up. At times it even feels like it wants to to turn
off. Just got an oil change, had new new spark plugs and
air filter put in. The problems still there anyone know what
this could be

Manual or automatic? I suspect a transmission problem if it has an automatic transmission or a clutch problem if it has a manual.

I would first check the transmission fluid level and if low add some. If the fluid is not a healthy looking pink have the fluid and filter changed. If the fluid is brown and smells burnt you are probalby due for a rebuild of the transmission. You can also have a transmission shop check it out.
