Question type: Maintenance & Repair

well maintained DeVille/Concours, ABS LIGHT ON, PROBLEM NOT DETERMINED YET, BUT HAS BEEN ON FOR 15,000 MILES, HAD CAR SERVICED AND SOMEONE HIT TRACTION CONTROL BUTTON, NOW TRACTION STAYS ON. CAR TAKES OFF IN WHAT SEEMS LIKE LOWER GEAR, THEN FINE...HAVE TRIED HOLDING TRACTION BUTTON IN TO TURN OFF TO NO AVAIL., ONE TIME IT SAID TRACTION OFF, BUT LIGHT  STAYED ON, AND DRIVES SAME, ANY IDEA'S?....WILL THIS EFFECT TRANSMISSION.

These symptoms will keep the care in 2nd gear not a lower gear. Could possibly hurt transmission. You need to "code" the car for error / malfunction codes
