96 deville check coolant

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Replaced alternator battery water pump
thermostat new coolant and ran fine two days
later coolant warning light idol engine protecting
engine stopped car needed a gallon of water
again high pitched whistle coming out of engine
compartment no water under car and appears
no water in oil any suggestions 112 k on 96
deville with northstar motor.

Try purging the cooling system from air, if you have not already done so. Here is a video on how to purge your cooling system...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zUpXgAJ1gjU

Thanks going to have this done going thru almost a gallon of antifreeze a day and no water in oil or under car. Starting with cooling system and overflow, overheated the other day lifted up release on radiator cap and the water was coming out of overflow like a waterfall.
