Pinhole leak in radiator overflow tank

Asked by Jun 16, 2017 at 12:19 PM about the 1997 Cadillac DeVille Concours Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I own a 1997 Cadillac DeVille Concours.
The radiator overflow tank has a pin
hole in the top of the tank.  Starts
leaking once the engine is on and the
coolant is pressurized.  Is there a
product available to repair this tiny
leak?

I would just replace if you want to keep the car long term. Find one in a salvage yard or Dorman makes one #603133 for around $60. Have someone check the cylinder pressure and cooling system health too, you might be developing the dreaded headgasket leaks.

Try patching the hole with some silicone sealant temporarily but you need to buy a new one.
