how to close the trunk of a 98 Caddy with a dead battery?

The battery in my 98 DeVille is dead.  I opened the trunk using the key, and now cannot get it closed.  Is there a way to latch is closed with the battery being dead?

I opened trunk with my key. no electric to open so there has to be a way to close it. Since I had no battery to open, nothing electric was used. So there for nothing moved. So there has to be a way to close it.

Come on.. I have the same issue with my 99 Eldorado...there must be a way to close it without breaking the mechanism?!?
