Leaking coolant

Asked by Abby Apr 13, 2017 at 05:01 PM about the 2005 Ford Freestyle SEL AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2005 Ford Freestyle SEL, AWD. My
husband just changed the starter the other day,
now it's leaking coolant. He had to remove the
thermostat housing to get to the starter. He
checked all of the hoses and they are on tight. This
is a picture of whwre the starter was. My question
is, what is the problem?

One would have to look to see where it is leaking from. He messed with the thermostat housing so my guess would be with the thermostat housing. If there is no problem there then maybe it is coming from the over flow, if the cooling system was not purged from the air pockets since it was opened up. Here is a sight on how to purge the cooling system... www.youtube.com/watch?v=zUpXgAJ1gjU
