99 deville stopped running wont start acts like no fuel

i was driving my 99 deville and it stopped running i was driving about 50 miles a hour and
when i pressed on foot feed it just started slowing down finally stopped running and i have
not been able to start the engine

start with the easiest thing first - the fuel filter. Its one of those things that people forget to change for years sometimes.
