Okay, have a 2000 deville base. It's overheating. No leaks, not losing any
coolant, no white smoke, no milky substance in the oil. What could this be?
try a new thermostat and a coolant flush , let us know what happens
Already did that.
I had a van that did this, my radiator was going bad.
Radiator checked out fine. Have no clue to what it could be. Purged the line. Changed coolant resevoir cap.
Steven, have a combustion leak test done. if there are combustion gasses in your cooling system then you might have a bad head gasket. many shops can do this, or you can buy a kit from the auto parts store for about 50 bucks and do it yourself. lots of youtube videos on the net.
I agree, check for combustion gases in the cooling system. If you have a Northstar it's probably going to be the head gaskets. All Northstar engines blow head gaskets sooner or later!! HTH. - Jim
Can you just trust the Cadillac service mechanic to diagnose it?
On something this old, the Cadillac Dealer may not want to work on it. You can give them a try. I'd recommend a Cadillac Dealer if yours will work on it. If not, try your local Chevrolet Dealer. They tend to be a lot less snooty. HTH. -Jim
You're welcome. Glad to help. -Jim
