Alignment, tire, or rim issues?

Asked by Shazeio7 Jul 03, 2017 at 09:25 PM about the 2001 Cadillac Seville STS FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I haven't been able to get a wheel alignment since replacing my  Rear
passenger-side tire. My Front passenger-side tire has been leaking, needing
some air in generally one weeks time. I am concerned, however, that the
issue is with the tire or rim itself.  I have attached a photo of the damage to
the front passenger-side tire.

Can I get opinions on what may be the issue and what to do? I am not great
at maintenance myself and I understand that not forking the dough over to
maintain the car has probably netted me some long-term issues.

I would replace the wheel immediately. The metal is failing, possibly due to corrosion or maybe just to damage sustained when the tires where mounted.

It is very hard to tell the extent of the possible damage from this photo, but I agree with F_O_R.....replace the wheel as it may be about to fail.
