Equinox Burining Oil

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2011 Chevy Equinox that is burning through oil. Dealership says to check oil every 1000 miles. Why? I don't have to on my GM Truck nor do I on my Ford vehicles and I run them just as much. Today we took the truck in again because the oil was empty even though I just had the truck in Chevy's shop in July - Less then 2 months ago. When can I expect Chevy to do the right thing and provide a warranty recall so I quit having to miss work because I keep taking this truck into the shop for repairs that should not have to be made. Or should I just sell off the Equinox and go with a competitor? The oil burning issue is obviously a known issue as I have found hundreds of websites with similar issues.

mine did the same thing the dealer fixed it rebuilt the motor cost me nothing took about a month of keeping track of oil loss mine loss about 2qt in about two weeks

You don't say how many miles are on the engine but if it uses oil you clearly must check the level and top it off unless you want to destroy the engine. How many miles and what oil do you use? You went two months and it is out of oil - it is the miles that count, not the time factor.
