Hole at bottom of catalytic converter in the buick enclave

Asked by Pablo Oct 07, 2016 at 09:40 PM about the 2011 Buick Enclave CXL1 FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

There is a black smoke deposit at the bottom of
my buick enclave 2011, and a small hole where the
black smoke deposits are. Is this normal?

It is normal on a muffler as they often put a hole so moisture will drain. The converter gets plenty hot and not sure that all converters have the water drain hole but unless it gets bigger, don't worry about it.
