2011 Subaru Outback CVT transmission

Hello,
Recently on our way back from the beach, the check engine light, brake
light, and several other lights came on all of the sudden.  We drove it home
and have since had it to several mechanics.  We notice that it seems like its
going to stall when we start from a stop.  The codes pulled all indicate
transmission.  Now I've read where Subaru had issues with the CVT
transmission and extended the warranty, but we are about 37k miles and a
year too late.  I've called the Subaru dealer but not expecting much help from
them.  Can anyone help with what the ballpark cost might be for CVT (i
heard they can't be rebuilt).  Do we have any recourse with Subaru? Love
our Subaru and really want to keep it, but not sure at what point it no longer
makes sense.

A used CVT might be what you want as a new one could be 8 grand. I would fix it and dump it.

My car is at the transmission shop with the exact same issue, I only bought it a year and a half ago (2011 and just hit 180,000 miles) I'm fearing the worst. I bought it to replace my 2000 outback after blowing the head gasket a second time, which caused me to replace the engine only to find out a year later that the rear subframe was rotting after replacing that 5 years prior. Not having good luck with subbies
