painting AMG rims

Asked by Jac Jun 04, 2007 at 01:33 PM about the 1999 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Sedan

Question type: Car Customization

I'd like to change the color of my rims. The original rims are an aluminum alloy. Should I chemically strip the wheels? DO I need to prime the aluminum alloy prior to painting? If so, with what? Should I use a specially formulated paint

jac, I was looking online to try and give you the best advice I could find, but I just couldn't find anything. The best source that i know of for info on wheels and rims is tirerack.com. Maybe search their site to see if they can help. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Instead of paintiing them why dont you get them rebuffed to keep the classic nature of your car! there are alot of people who would pay good money for a set of original amg wheels then you could get some deep dish wheels instead and drop the suspension right on then..lol
