engine missing between 40-70 mph

When traveling 40-70 mph and I accelerate the engine seems to be missing or hesitateing?

Could be fuel filter or fuel pump or spark plugs or combo of one or all three. Less likely maybe timing is off

Is fuel injected could be one of the coils (like a spark plug wire)

I have the almost the same problem but mine is missing out all the time I have code PO138
