2004 Deville Northstar using oil.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2004 Deville with the Northstar engine. Over the last few oil changes it seems to be using oil. Have had to add about 2 quarts during the normal 3000 mile oil change cycle. No leaks. If it is burning oil what is the standard engine work to repair?

Check the area near the oil pressure sending switch. They're prone to leakage and often times will not drip on the ground. A guy at work has a '97 DeVille that drove him nuts trying to find out where his oil was going. Turned out that's what it was. HTH. -Jim
