I just put in a rebuilt alternator in my car and after it runs for a bit the whole electrical system shuts dow and the dashboard goes on and off i cheked the alternator and the battery in autozone

Have you had the voltage reading of alternator out put ? Should be charging at 14 volts.

What was the reason that you changed out the alternator the first time ? Was it doing this before you changed out the alternator ?

No when the alternator went it just smelled like a plastic bag was burning and after an hr the car died im wondering if is a bad job that they did with the alternator

That is what I am thinking have a new alternator installed instead of a rebuilt one.
