Hi Bmw98765 See you choice is good but before that have a proper test drive and check out condition of car through your mechanic then check out the condition of engine and how mush that car traveled.

Id go the 760Li, no known major issues with the engines and not much different price wise to service.

+1 On maintenance history, owner history, mechanic inspection, or have a friend mechanic come along for the test drive. I've bought, sold, and maintained at least a couple dozen cars, trucks, and motorcycles in my life time.

Agree most important to check service history, I try and always buy 1 owner with full BMW service history cars myself. If it has only done 70,000kms this should be the case. V12 vs V8 is an interesting comparison. The V12 will be more expensive to service than a V8. Also as this is a long wheel base V12 it is the heaviest car in the 7 series range. This impacts suspension bushes, tyres & brake wear. On the handling and braking front you should expect it to be less nimble and more difficult to pull up. Having said that you have an incredibly smooth and powerful car as a trade off. Since it's a BMW V12 I wouldn't hesitate to recommend you purchase though...provided the service history checks out. 70k's on a BMW V12 is nothing...although very economical for a V12 still be prepared to spend more on fuel with ave economy rated at 13.8 L per 100 kms I'd expect city driving to be around 16L per 100kms

No doubt, getting it from the original owner and they have maintenance records. I bought a 95 525i a few years back. I bought it with 212k miles but it was very clean and they had every record. Purchased for $2400, I put another 20k miles on it, replaced the fuel pump, brakes, and alternator and then later sold it for $4500 after 8 months of ownership. ☺
