I hope the engine didn't get too hot to cause a warped head and a bad head gasket. When refilling the cooling system, was the bleeder valve open until coolant came out, then closed, and then the cooling system bled from the air pockets?

i needed to change my water pump ($68 from Rock Auto) I think the gasket came with it, also found a crack in overflow tank. The pump can malfunction for many reasons you can find free on CARDONE parts site. Good luck!
