A problem with the seat adjusters

Asked by yohanfubar Dec 28, 2007 at 10:30 PM about the 2005 BMW 5 Series 525i Sedan RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just purchased this car and on a long roadtrip, I stopped to take a nap and when I turned the car off the alarm went off, which I turned off.  After restarting the car however, I found that the neither the drivers seat nor the passenger seat would adjust anymore.  Is this a real problem or just a obscure security feature?
