I am considering buying a 2002 530i (126k miles) for $8k. Is this a smart buy?

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

It's in great shape, regularly maintained, and has new alternator, radiator, front bushings, newer plugs, and a few other things.

Given the maintainence already performed, should I expect many other major replacements, or has most of the big stuff been covered?

Thanks!

Kelly blue book lists that car anywhere from $5,523 in "fair" shape up to $6948 "excellent".....I don't really know that much about beemers just passing that along but carfax carfax carfax even if you have to pay for it yourself, if dealer DEMAND it

Oil separator/CV Valve is a good replacement item to the tune of about $150. Ask when the brakes were last changed, along with the brake fluid. The O2 sensors need to be done every 60K. I would shoot for $7-6500, depending on if it is a manual with sport options. Otherwise, rock on.
