The automatic ZF 6 speed automatic will not shift. The warning 'symbol' trans . problems came on along with "CHECK ENGINE SOON". I cannot do much with this problem due to the location of the fill plug. Up to this point, there had been no problems, I had been shifting it in the manual mode at times.

Definitely do what Tom said, but 1- what is the mileage and 2- when was the last time your transmission fluid was replaced?
