HEEEELLLPPP IM SCARED MY BMW IS DONE "service engine soon light" won't go away

Asked by Hernafai May 11, 2014 at 03:13 AM about the 2006 BMW 3 Series 325i Sedan RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

HI EVERYONE! I know nothing about
cars, and just need help. So I am
new to the BMW world, I just bought
a 2006 325i with 82k miles about 1
week ago. The "Check Engine Soon"
light came on, and I took it to car
max where they replaced ignition coil
and cylinoid. (Don't know if I spelt
that right lol). Why is the light still on?
I've checked my gas cap multiple
times to make sure it clicks... Is this
another issue than what they already
fixed or does it takes some time after
repairs for the light to go away? I
love this car so much and just hope I
didn't get myself in a mess...

Hello, I'm a car dealer and Mechanic. Don't let the light worry you. T ake the Car to a ADVANCED AUTO PARTS store. and ask one of the people behind the counter if they can check and reset code for you....IT's FREE !!! they will reset the light then tell you what is causing it.
