Asked by Medford Jan 26, 2018 at 06:41 PM about the 2005 Cadillac DeVille Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The water pump was leaking and bearings
making noise so put some liquid aluminum
stop leak in my coolant system for
temporary fix. In the meantime my heater
quite working. Thought thermostat frozen
up by stop leak. When I got time I replaced
water pump and thermostat. Heater still
not working. What has happened?

You might've clogged up the cooling lines going to the heater core. Disconnect one of the cooling lines from heater core located by the firewall, plug the side going to the engine and see if you see coolant flowing out of the line coming out of heater core.
