2003 bmw 325xi

Asked by Feb 03, 2017 at 08:53 AM about the 2003 BMW 3 Series 325xi

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So I just replaced my engine in my 03
325xi it runs great but after driving even
shirt distances the engine feels super hot,
but the needle is right in the middle. They
change the thermostat and the water
pump. Anyone know what else could be
the problem?

Needle at 12:00 is normal and goes off a range of temps. So not accurate or real time. If the engine is indeed getting too hot, you can bleed the system and make sure there is enough coolant, BMW has a specific procedure from other manufacturers. Here is a DIY....http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=689618

did you do the work? you said "I just replaced" I guess you did not take the scalpel to the BMW- and the only person who does major work on a 21st Century BMW should know what they are doing- I'm guessing this is where you went wrong- good luck
