Pulsating heater/ac cabin fan

The cabin heater/ac fan on my 2002 325i pulsates, especially when cold.  Seems to go away after the car warms up.  I've heard of this problem but didn't pay much attention to what the fix was seeing that I didn't have the problem at the time....now I do, too.  Any idea on how what's the problem and how to fix?   Thanks.

final stage resistor.its very common.under the dash in the middle and can be accessed on the passenger side.need to pull one of the stepper motos out of the way then its 3 t-20 torx screws.disconnect it pull out the screws then reconnect it and pry the plastic flap holding it in place and pull it out from the harness or connector.prob shouldnt be saying to pull from the harness but that connector and haness is strong as hell.
