2006 STS battery issues

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2006 STS battery goes dead after a week. I had it jumped and tested by
AAA and it seemed to work fine for about a month. I bought a battery saver
trickle charger and it seemed to help for a few weeks. It is making a popping
sound when I try to start it again even with the trickle charger. When I'm near
the car without the keyfob, I can hear the care clicking. The battery is two years
old. When I do get it started the battery shows 12.3 volts and then drive it for
awhile the battery voltage indicator builds up to 13.1 volts, not 14.4 as it did a
few months ago.
Any ideas?
