my car wont rev at all but idles nice

Asked by dozer01 Jun 03, 2014 at 04:45 AM about the 2000 BMW 3 Series 328i Sedan RWD

Question type: General

i brought a e36 with blown water pump and it had a hole in the transmission hose
[possibly from belt snapping]  and after changing the water pump fixing hose and
topping trans up i fried it up and it runs smooth but when i put my foot on accelerator it
wont rev at all i can some what nurse it up to about 1200 rpm but thats it,
it has an eml light on the dash , any ideas out there ?

I hope you didn't spend much- you bought a BMW without hearing it run? You must be feelin' lucky-

Could be throttle position sensor but get codes read to find out.
