The 328 came with 191 horse power and the top speed is electronically controlled at 125mph. Hope that helps

Yes well each car is different in how it is broke in not every 328i with have exactly 191 hp some have more some have less and your limited speed is in km/h I gave you the top speed in miles per hour.

250km/h is actually 155mp/h and that is the speed every Audi, BMW and Mercedes is limited to electronically which is something the companies agreed to, for "greener" cars. Depending on what year the model was made in depends on the HP and considering its a 2.8 litre petrol engine it shouldnt have had a problem reaching 155mp/h when it was new. Though I doubt it could have done this with 191 hp..

Update: Indeed it is infact 190 hp produced at 5300 rpm! Not sure about the top speed. If Randhir hasnt modified his car in any way and it is getting 155mp/h on a dyno than that should be the original default speed controlled electronically

depending on the spec (US or Euro) around 190/192 HP. As for the top speed, if you have the 2.92 open diff w/ a ZF transmission (all E36 328s received the ZF tranny if I remember correctly), top speed should be gear limited at 170+ and electronically limited at around 137 - 145 mph. I'd love for anyone to find somewhere long enough for a 328i to get to 155-160 mph though... E36s start crawling after 110.

I've reached 210km/hr with mine. Uphill reached abt 207km/hr and downhill 212km/hr coming down to 210km/hr on straights. And according to Specs for this car it has 190hp. Standard 328i.

Is there a standard folding roof for a 328I BMW E36 Highline as the roof fitted to my daughters car appears to not to be an ideal fit and is causing her all sorts of problems. Welcome your feedback. Cheers Terry

I don't know about Andy up there, but my 96 328i has no problem accelerating after 100 mph and I've gone the top speed in mine; electronically limited at 135. Should've gone manual Andy! They can push about 155-160 if you mod the computer. In fact, I was maxing out and was still in 4th gear ~5k rpms. They are dope ass cars ;)

Also, hp from factory is supposed to be around 197 hp I believe. Do the motor fan delete mod, it'll help out from having to replace the cooling system and you'll free up a couple of ponies too

And remember my peeps, hp sells cars, torque wins races

Agree 100 percent, i personally love the fast take off just because it is even easier to avoid and accident. My bmw is a gem to me, i am happier with my bmw then the Mercedes i previously owned.
