I have a 1996 Bmw 318i that my girlfriend just recently gave me and it been setting for about a year due to a oil leak and over heating. The oil leak is pretty bad and a quart can run out in approx 30 to 40 min. What could the problem be and is it worth fixing or just replacing the engine?

if the leak is so big, you could be able to actually see the oil coming out. The first thing is to see if the leak is a separate issue or if it is a product of the overheating. If it is in fact an overheating that caused this leak something is definitely wrong with the head or a blown gasket if not could be just an oil seal gone bad.

I have a 2005 Bmw 330i zhp. I was driving out of a gas station when it suddenly started making engine noise, then the oil light came on, then the check engine light. I drove it about 2 miles home where i parked it. I scanned it and now reads p0012. I changed out the Vanos sensor $200 later and it did not fix. I have checked the oil filter and it looks okay. I run 93 octane and use castrol fully synthetic with perfect changed invtervals. I reset the code and the check engine light went away but the oil light is alluminated from the start and its RED. The engine makes a ticking/knocking noise as if it has something inside it rattling. Just got the car back a few weeks ago from the transmission shop $2500 LATER and now its doing this. I dont know what it could be and i cant just continue to throw money into it. Can anyone please tell me what this could be? this is really hard on me as its my only car.. 4 Answers

1999 BMW 323i 4door Sedan.....My right front headlight has a wire coming off it and the I can really wee what that wire needs to be attached to it has the attacher still attched but it is just dangling? 2 Answers

It is coming off the left bulb assembly wire hoping to not have to take the bumper off ahve the car jacked up but I can't see to figure out what it goes too any help would be greatly appreciated
